Sharing a Blessing!

We want to share our story of God's blessing with you today! I tend to ramble so bear with me... :)

Many of you may have read our story of how our ministry started... my mother, a senior on a limited income, was looking for an affordable place where she could meet single Christians, but the cost of what was available was extremely prohibitive. So in 1992, I began programming an application that would cater to the poor and we opened for business in 1993.

A couple of years later, we took our service to the internet and we continue to strive to make it a place where the poor can find companionship. Some of the things that make our site different are this:

1) We offer a confidential Financial Hardship plan for the poor.
2) We allow our members to also gain a blessing from helping the poor by:
a) purchasing a gift membership for someone else
b) purchasing a $30 or $50 plan - thus giving extra to help us be able to continue to offer the hardship plan to others
3) After the Free Trial, we allow members to remain online as FREE Basic members:
they can still search, chat, view profiles, have a profile, send a smile and brief message any day of the week, and on special days, send online mails. This allows the poor to only invest in our service once they've found someone of interest.
4) We offer a Senior Special just for those 65 and up.

And for the Blessing part!!!...
We want to thank all of you for your support of this ministry. This is our FIRST MONTH since being in business that we have actually met our financial goals and broke even with this business. In the past, we have been living on monies earned by my doing web application development for other clients. The web development business has been in a major lag since last year, and we asked God what we could do to continue to support our family. He impressed us to put more effort into this web site and so we did. We had put away six months salary and have been living on that since November, while redesigning this web site.

We don't believe in getting into debt, so we chose not to take out a business loan, but to trust in God. He has been there for us, with your help. Many times we have wondered if we should turn to methods used by others, but we decided if we didn't want it done to us, we would not do it to others. Some of these things are:

1) We do NOT auto-charge your credit card for renewals. You won't see fine print in regard to auto-charges, because we don't do it. We don't even know your card number. This is handled securely
between you and Veri-sign and your bank.
2) We do NOT sell, share, or send your email, address, or phone to mailing lists. Neither do we do this with the email addresses of those that you refer to our website using our Tell a Friend link on our SEARCH page. This is clear in our TERMS OF USE and our PRIVACY POLICY.
3) Scammers frequent all singles dating sites, but we continue to warn our members, and in fact have recoded our web site to thwart them before their scam mails ever reach you in the first place.

God has blessed us, and we have a large database of ACTIVE singles!
* We constantly purge our membership of members who haven't been online in a long time. We send them notices allowing them to have their account reactivated, but it is not fair to you to muddle through thousands of profiles that you will never get a response from because they are not active members.
* We constantly purge our membership of members who have bounced back email addresses, (unless the person has been online very recently). Again, it isn't fair to you to think you are writing an active member, when in fact they'll not receive your mail notice and aren't logging in regularly to check their mail.
* Others claim large numbers, but we'd rather claim ACTIVE members! We purged 2,000 inactive members recently!
