No "buttering up"...
No "tryin to look good"..
My name is "SoldierByte"..
NOT Jesus..
and since I am a man,
(and not a god,)
just an ole war horse that
has seen way too much,
done more then he should have..
and less then I was suppose to
my comments and actions are
those of a man....
Was asked for my opinion...
and it is as follows:
This site is no more..
nor LESS commercial then
ANY other "date site"..
"Premium / PAY members", cookies,
adware, etc., ..
another vehicle to "make money"..
Though one thing DOES rate this
place ABOVE the rest..
That is the fact that I appreciate the
fact that one need not hide his faith here..
Seems like now-a-days the only folks allowed to freely speak their "piece about their faith" are the
non-Christian..
I spent my WHOLE life in service to
protect THIS nation UNDER GOD..!!
I proudly acknowledge MY membership..
No fan-fare,
no boasting..
no CRAP..
simply stating the facts..
Like it or not..
it IS MY opinion..
Now..
I gotta run to the "Prayer Request" board..
Cause the Good Lord does know..
I NEED them....

Since I am in charge of approving these posts, I cannot approve this as though your assumptions about our having adware, etc., are correct.
I would respectfully disagree that we can be compared to other sites in those regards.
1) We have never had adware.
Perhaps a look at the definition of adware would help:

"Adware or advertising-supported software is any software package which automatically plays, displays, or downloads advertising material to a computer after the software is installed on it or while the application is being used."
Do we do pop-ups and pop-unders? No, we never have.
2) As far as a vehicle to "make money" I don't think anyone can compare our site to other sites in that regard. Anyone having a business like this has to pay for the cable lines, the generator, the hardware servers (we have 4), the database server and web server applications, and far, far more. Yes, we must be able to pay the bills to stay online and this is my full-time job, working well into the wee hours of the morning, so where else is the income going to come from to pay for my time.
I have always felt we operate this service as a ministry and try to be different than the other sites as much as possible without going bankrupt.
Those who have used this site enough and know us, realize that this service is not operated like the rest. There are many things behind the scenes which you don't know about.
Do we do auto-billing - which provides 95% of the income that other sites make? No. I don't think anyone can name one other site of this caliber, with this quality of members that does not do auto-billing. I think enough of the members on this site have been a victim of this practice to know it is a breath of fresh air to find a place where you don't have to worry about that.
3) Yes, we use cookies. If we didn't, (as do all log in sites), each member would have to log in when traversing from page to page to tell the system who you are. A cookie keeps track of who you are so you don't have to log in on every page. My library makes me log in every single time I want to put a book on hold and that is so very annoying. I think if those who have a mind-set against cookies would actually study the differences between the various kinds of cookies, they would learn there is a big difference in the kinds of cookies out there. Our use of cookies is to make your experience here more enjoyable.
