Dear Nannette and Larry,

I appreciate your ministry so very much. You have helped so many couples, including Nathalie Valeramos and myself to find a loving mate!

After becoming a member (Billy) of Shining Star Christian Singles July 5 2000, for four years meeting many wonderful people, making many good friends, finally God led me to The One for me. It was really indirectly through your site that Nathalie and I met. But God had that covered also...lol. One of your Free members from Philippines that I had befriended while I was Ruby, wanted to introduce me to her half-sister who was not Adventist and not on our site. These sisters had only become acquainted with each other in 2002.

I first called Nathalie by telephone April 23, 2004. Nine months later she informed me she had been crying out of loneliness and was in a cab on her way to take a break to pray with God in a hotel room for a day when my call came to her. She wanted God to send a Christian man to her that she could love. I had been praying for God to send a born again woman to me, also. Two weeks after our first talk, Nathalie informed me her neck was hurting again. She had undergone surgery in February for a large thyroid carcinoma and the cancer had returned. Around June 1 Nats was in for her second surgery in three months. Then in September was her nuclear isolation treatment.

We corresponded almost daily for nearly seven months by phone and using Yahoo Messenger with webcam, even voice talk until Nathalie arrived in Minneapolis before Christmas. It was June 16 while webcam chatting that Nathalie excused herself to go to comfort room...upon returning she explained reason was to go wipe away tears. I asked why.... She said because she loved me so much. Those feelings had also been in my heart for her but I was not expressing as much. One interesting answer to prayer was I had asked God to deliver His princess for me...and if the lady was not born again Adventist that He would prove she be the one by seeking to understand Gods bible truths that I hold so dear. Nathalie had been raised Catholic but had joined the Born Again Church in 1999, the first from her immediate family to seek bible truth. During the first six weeks of our communication, she asked me three times to teach her the bible truths. I purposely had held off during her requests because God had shown me that the one He would send would be very sincere in her quest for learning more of Him. I wanted to be certain!

Nathalie had been looking for a job, but in the meantime was self employed selling jewelry. She was meeting with her supplier on June 17 then to go sell new jewelry. Next day I asked her how her meeting and sales went. Her response was she went window shopping instead ... "if ever I get married, I was looking at wedding dresses...." I took that as enough hint, so I asked her the big question. Nats began crying and said she was so happy. So we became engaged.

A couple days later Nathalie asked if it would be ok if she and her mother took a bus from her home in Cagayan de Oro City to Mountain View College where her favorite uncle was president of the Adventist College to ask if he would perform our marriage. Uncle Jerry had been praying many years for his niece, and was over-joyed to accommodate her request for a church wedding for the family. There was one condition first, that she be taught and baptized 7th Day Adventist.

I arrived in Manila July 4, 2005. While seeing the sites of Manila and Mountain View College I was busy teaching my sincere student the bible truths of Jesus in preparation for her baptism by Uncle Jerry. I had discovered very early in our communication that Nathalie had a very close walk with Jesus... a true love, born again, trusting relationship. Nathalie was baptized in the river outside of Mountain View College on July 10. Our family wedding was held at Mountain View College Guest House July 11.

I applied for Fiance Visa which took CIS almost five months to process and approve before she was permitted to fly into Minneapolis December 18. Meanwhile, I was busy running my insurance agency and office cleaning business while Nathalie was readying everything for her interview with US Embassy in Manila.

December 18 was the very first 'cold' day of our Minnesota winter, but Nats met it like a champ. Thanks to pastor Bob Brauer who performed shortest ceremony marrying us in the Brainerd MN SDA Church the evening of December 23 before he ran off to perform in an outdoor manger scene.

Tomorrow, May 5 Nathalie will be in St. Paul for her biometric and fingerprinting which is in the process of receiving her US residency. We are so happy and in-love together.
