Hi Nannette,
Thank you for sharing our Love story on your website, and forgive us for taking so long to share it with you. We are so happy that it will possibly give hope others who are searching for Godly helpmate!
Please feel free to also add this email address calvinnphilly@gmail.com if anyone would like to correspond with us. We would really love to hear from them!
God certainly used Christian singles to bring my precious wife and I together!
Thank you so much for your services... and all that you do!
God Bless you,
Our Love Always, Calvin & Philly
I asked Calvin to share information on the fiance visa process, here is his story....
Hi Nannette,
I think we could only share our own experience as concerning the immigration process.
But I believe the most important thing for me to know that in my heart I was following the Lord, and not my own desires. But after many lonely years of searching I began to spend my time with, sometimes shutting myself in with Him for weekends at a time. And it was then that He began opening doors that no man could close. And when it was His timing He poured out His blessings upon us, directing our every path!
So much so I don't believe even we could have stopped it! And even a blind man could tell it was of the Lord!
I know this is not the case with everyone, but I feel the most important thing to know is that in your heartyou are following the Lord, which means spending time with Him. Probably almost every Christian single person knows the scripture "Delight thyself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of thine heart"!!!
We are living proof this scripture is true. And there will be no sorrow from it!
As to the immigration process, I can only give our own experience, which came as the result of much prayer, God leading us through the proper channels!
When I applied for a passport to meet my fiancé in Holland, the passport officer of whom I spoke with who was 1,200 miles away just happened to have lived 70 miles from where we live now, and attended the same church I had visited many times! He then advised me not to apply for a fiancé visa, but rather have my fiancé apply for a visitors visa, and then after she arrives, get married. Then after we were married apply for permanent residence.
This process worked fine for us, and probably more so financially, and we did not have to wait 6 months with a fiancé visa.
I don't know if this would be the best application in all situations, but hopefully it is of help to someone.
God Bless You,
Love Always, Calvin
Nannette, You are more than welcome to use any, or all correspondence that we may have with you. If you think that will in any way help others, please do! If I could though, I feel a real burden, and mostly because of the nature of immigration brides, to elaborate more on the extreme importance of bonding our relationship with the Lord. But before I do I would like to say Thank you Nannette, and to all who have ever had a part in the outreach of Christian Singles. If it has never helped anyone else I can truly say that you were a tool in God's hands that brought me the most precious wife a man could ever imagine! And many thanks to its precious members who had become like family to me at a very hard time in my life. I know from the experience of being a member of Christian Singles, that there are many mature believers, many of which have more maturity in the Lord than myself. I will forever be grateful to the wonderful friends I have met through this website! I believe that they were very much a part of our "Love Story" between me and my precious wife. Because of their Love of God, and their precious prayers we will forever be grateful! We cannot ever underestimate the awesome power that comes through praying for one another! Walking alone is not easy. Even though we know that we are not alone, and that God is ever with us, and we are always welcome to boldly come into His presence! Wow! Isn't that awesome! That He would grant "us" that privilege! In His presence there is fullness of joy, and because of His loving nature our spirit is fully and completely satisfied in His presence. But yet, we long for that physical touch. It's a natural emotion even from the beginning, when God saw Adam's need for the physical. Saying that "it is not good for man to be alone". God created Eve, and brought her to Adam. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He does not change. He sees our need. He even cares about the little sparrows that fall to the ground. How much more He cares for you and me. God is at this very moment is creating your helpmate also, and will in time also bring them to you! At the very moment you started to pray, He begin molding both of you together for His own pleasure and service for Him. We must, even though at times it seems to be the hardest thing we have ever done, "Wait on Him". "In your patience possess ye your soul" Luke 21:19 Only the Lord knows where that person you are seeking to be your helpmate will be spiritually in their relationship with Him in 5, or even 50 yrs. from now. And if our intentions, and that of our spouse are not first of all to serve the Lord for eternity, chances are the covenant we make with our spouse will not last either! It is all brings us to everything God's word is about. Learning to trust, depend upon, and surrender our lives, and our will to Him. Which really just comes natural, when in His presence we cannot help but to fall at his feet in worship and adoration! To realize that the Creator of the universe actually yearns to hold us, His fallen creation in His arms, wooing us to live with Him forever! Don't know about you! But that melts me like butter! Once God has ordained something to be in Heaven it will come to pass, and no one can stop it. When God joined us together, I don't believe that anyone, including my wife or I could have changed what He had put in place. We stand in awe, and are amazed how He brought us together from totally opposite ends of the earth, and how He uses our lives for Him. We fit together like a glove in perfect harmony! We are worshipers, leading worship together for Him, helping to bring others into His awesome presence! What an honor & privilege it is to serve the King of the Universe! Remember it has always been, and will always and forever be about Him! When we finally get that in our spirit, putting His wants and His desires before our own, the sky is truly the limit on the blessings that He will send our way! "Delight thyself also in the Lord, and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart"!!! Psalm 34:7
Never Give up hope! & Love Always, Calvin
