We married the last day of

Before & After
God answers prayer! We’ll not forget.
That August day we’ll not regret.
We marvel yet
At how we met.
Through Shining Star on the Internet.
Away out west was Desert Ray
And on his P. C. he would play.
Each lonely day
He’d watch and pray
For a Christian mate to come his way.
Out near the west Nebraska line
A widow, all alone would dine.
“It would be fine,”
She thought, “just fine
To have a caring man all mine.”
Late in July just on a whim
She sent a message out to him.
Her hopes were dim.
The picking slim.
Not many older men with vim.
She was surprised with a reply.
To be polite was the reason why.
She was not nigh.
He could not fly.
But an E-mail friend was worth a try.
Soon messages were flying fast.
Then for a photograph he asked.
A few hours passed.
And then at last
A file came through. His vote was cast.
A ticket to Nebraska land
He soon was clasping in his hand.
A place was planned
For a meeting, grand.
Suspense was difficult to stand.
Yes, there were problems to be solved.
But most of them were soon resolved.
The doubts involved
Were soon dissolved.
Some wedding plans quickly evolved.
Eight months have passed since we were wed.
Much happiness and joy instead
Of lonely dread
Of things ahead.
We’re thanking God for how He led.
