  Hi TXSmile,

I can sympathize with you about the societal value system that keeps "older" women on the margins. Have any ideas about what can be done about this? How to help extinguish the prejudices and promote a healthy and positive construct/s for older women? This would have to go well beyond saying they "are beautiful lovers," right?

Do we roll with the product lines of anti-wrinkle creams and hair treatments, supported as much by women as by men? Shun them? Support aging research?
Do we try less and trust God more? What would that trust look like? Doing nothing while we wait? Or might waiting indicate action?

One thing I have noticed is that there are certain women who retain a strong sense of youthfulness all through their lives, and there are some who are able to hike for miles after age 60, 70 and even 80; whereas there are many women in their twenties who don't do as well (because they haven't tried or haven't had the interest). The older I get, the more I see how youthfulness can be retained. Perhaps if we can move the focus from age to concepts like youthfulness, health, wellness, playfulness, intelligence, we would increase the likelihood of finding a good match and not feel that we had to accept the only single man left in our churches (the real advantage of dating sites). How do you see it? I welcome anyone's thoughts on this.

Natrual4ever! I think you are being unfair to SDA women. all women should be very careful 42 years ago when we felt safe going on blind dates and so forth I met a man from another state he was good looking knew some of my friends, he asked me out many times and I refused many times unfortunatly I gave in he wined and dined me, so to speak, and I feel in love with the guy, ended up marrying him and became a victum of brutal abuse. I had two sons with this crazy man one survived and turns 40 today the other one didnt, at the hands of a crazy man, it took me 7 years to get away from him, we didnt have shelters or even the polices help back then, it was common for men to beleive they owned their wife and children, I was beaten on nearly a daily basis I was shot at more than once I nearly died at his hands more than once, so if a man walks up and sneezes towards me yes I will flinch.

  Good discourse Joe!
"Christ will come when His people perfectly represent Him"
And so, if i can perfect represent Him (in what? Sinless perfect life? Then why need i a Christ?)

"we need to hit the brakes when we read 'perfect' and get what is really being pictured here though."
I agree: although Christ lived a sinless life (no deed did He do against the law) and had a perfect doctrine (no untruth did He hold or speak)...His REAL perfection is so much more elemental than all that. Go to his last words
(A MANS DYING GASP SPEAKS LOUDEST HIS TRUE MESSAGE).
Notably absent was anything regarding hand, or head; only heart. He said nothing regarding deed, or doctrine, but only identity. Knowing He was "the" Son of God (and that His death would bequeath same on US) He gave a perfect and final example of faith, and love.

Is it possible His greatest "miracle" was trusting God, and NOT doing something (calling ten-thousand ready and willing angels, or "saving Himself") despite His very real agency here? Yet, choosing the WIll of Love, and resting in Sonship, in the Hands of Abba; despite DOING no sin, KNOWING no sin; despite being rejected only for HIS IDENTITY (of becoming sin, ALL of its horrible enormity)...HE STILL trusted the hands that kissed Adam good morning,
entrusted Himself for safekeeping ("commend", Gr, paratitheimi) in those hands to tuck Himself into during His darkest night.

DO we really understand the simplicity here?
There is hidden truth, right in plain sight....

You are SO right; if Christ has not come into my heart,
my IDENTITY (not my head, or DOCTRINE; not my hand, or DEED)
then it really matters not. Whenever He comes, it will not be for me...
my "righteousness" (if such a thing were possible)
is ONLY through accepting, and freely sharing LOVE...
and trusting LOVE, even in the face of hate,
even to point of death.

Each theophany...preceded by "fear not"....
Daddy, i'm in YOUR hands...learnin' not to fear...
learning to trust Your love...

  @ paperbrain

I am not sure why others do not reply emails and I wonder if they might share some of the same reasons as me.

1) I'm not sure if the person might be another scammer.
2) I'm not sure about the person's honesty in his profile.
3) I might not log in that regularly.
4) I simply have no interest.

Not sure if this helps.

Good luck in your search.

I think the main thing we should consider, is are we seeking a younger or older person because God has shown us that the one we seek lies in that direction? Or are we looking for younger/older people for selfish or vain reasons. I have said it once, and I'll say it again, in a successful relationship, it is God, not us, who makes the final decision.
